AAIP streams
Which AAIP stream fits your situation?
Alberta runs several nomination streams for different goals — from workers already in the province to entrepreneurs and farmers. Choosing the right one, and qualifying for a dedicated pathway where possible, is where guidance makes the difference.
Alberta Opportunity Stream
For workers already employed full-time in Alberta on a valid work permit, in an eligible occupation. One of the most-used AAIP routes — we confirm your eligibility and prepare a complete application.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
For candidates in the federal Express Entry pool with strong ties to Alberta. A nomination adds 600 CRS points. Alberta periodically invites candidates who support its economic priorities.
Dedicated pathways
Targeted Express Entry pathways for priority sectors — including the Accelerated Tech Pathway, Healthcare Pathway and Law Enforcement Pathway. We position eligible candidates for these faster routes.
Rural Renewal Stream
A community-driven route for workers with a job offer in a designated rural Alberta community. We coordinate the community endorsement and the provincial application.
Entrepreneur streams
Including the Rural Entrepreneur, Graduate Entrepreneur and Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur streams for those who will start or run a business in Alberta and meet the investment criteria.
Farm Stream
For experienced farm operators with the financial resources to buy or start a farming operation in Alberta. We structure the application around your agricultural background and plan.
How the AAIP works
Your route from assessment to permanent residence
Alberta's nomination process moves through a clear sequence. We manage each step so nothing stalls your file.
- 1
Eligibility & stream assessment
We review your Alberta work experience, job offer, occupation and Express Entry profile to find the AAIP stream where you are most competitive.
- 2
Express Entry profile / EOI
For Express Entry streams we align your federal profile with Alberta's priorities; for other streams we prepare the required Expression of Interest or application package.
- 3
Provincial nomination
Once invited or eligible, we prepare and submit your complete AAIP application — documents, settlement funds and plan — and manage every program request.
- 4
Permanent residence
With your nomination secured (and +600 CRS where Express Entry applies), we file and manage your federal PR application all the way to landing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Alberta PNP questions, answered
Common questions about the AAIP, Alberta Opportunity Stream, dedicated pathways, and 2025 allocation changes.
- What is the AAIP (Alberta PNP)?
- The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), formerly the AINP, is Alberta's Provincial Nominee Program. It nominates workers, graduates, entrepreneurs and farmers who can support Alberta's economy for Canadian permanent residence, through both Express Entry and non-Express Entry streams.
- Do I need to be working in Alberta to apply?
- For the Alberta Opportunity Stream, yes — you must be working full-time in Alberta on a valid permit in an eligible occupation. The Alberta Express Entry Stream and dedicated pathways select from the federal pool and are invitation-based. Entrepreneur and Rural Renewal streams have their own requirements. We assess the best fit.
- What are the AAIP dedicated pathways?
- Alberta runs targeted Express Entry pathways for priority sectors — such as the Accelerated Tech Pathway, Healthcare Pathway and Law Enforcement Pathway — that invite eligible candidates more quickly. If your occupation qualifies, these can be a significantly faster route to nomination.
- Have PNP spots been reduced for 2025?
- Yes. The federal government reduced provincial nomination allocations for 2025, so Alberta's nominations — like every province's — are more competitive than in recent years. A well-targeted, complete application matters more than ever.
- Are you a licensed (RCIC) immigration consultant?
- Yes. Verge Immigration Services is led by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the CICC and authorized to represent you with IRCC. We serve clients from our Winnipeg, Halifax and Moncton offices and around the world.
