We are pleased to share another success story from our Halifax office. Our client applied under the Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NSNP) Skilled Worker Stream.
When we first started the process, the client’s goal was to secure long-term stability in Canada. The application required careful preparation, as the Skilled Worker stream is employer-restricted and tied to a specific occupation. In this case, the nomination was issued for the occupation Dry Cleaning, Laundry and Related Occupations (NOC 65320) with employment tied to a specific employer.
Despite the restrictions and the challenges often faced in employer-driven nominations, Verge Immigration Services Inc. ensured the application was complete, accurate, and strategically presented. On August 29, 2025, the nomination was officially approved, and the client — along with their spouse and young child — received their Confirmation of Nomination from the Province of Nova Scotia.
This approval allows the family to move forward to the permanent residence stage with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The nomination is valid until August 31, 2026, providing ample time to complete the PR process.
The challenges we overcame for the client and their family:
- There were issues regarding the status of the principal applicant;
- The LICO for the family was not meeting as the dependent spouse was on maternity leave in Canada;
- The couple had a child while the application was in process, increasing the family size to three, increasing the requirement for the LICO per the NSNP policies.
