Who qualified for this new military draw?
IRCC created a very narrow Skilled Military Recruits category. Candidates needed to meet all of these conditions.
Requirement 1
Recognized foreign military service
At least 4 years of continuous service in a recognized foreign military.
Requirement 2
A Canadian Armed Forces offer
An eligible offer of arranged employment with the Canadian Armed Forces.
Requirement 3
Aligned experience and training
Able to perform the duties of an eligible military occupation identified by IRCC.
Requirement 4
Post-secondary education
A credential from a program of at least 2 years, or a valid ECA for foreign education.
Candidates also had to qualify for an eligible Express Entry program.
Meeting one requirement alone was not enough. Individual eligibility depends on the full ministerial instructions.
