For those wanting to Immigrate to Canada, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) offers a quick and relatively easy path to permanent residence.
Manitoba is particularly attractive to those who have studied in the province because of the Career Employment Pathway (Also known as International Education Stream). In the sections below, I will outline the eligibility requirements for the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and other program requirements and try and answer the most commonly asked questions by our clients.
Two Important Streams: MPNP from Inside Canada
Manitoba has two streams for those who are currently working in Manitoba:
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream; and
- International Education Stream.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream of the MPNP
If you are currently working in Manitoba on a valid work permit for a period of six months and meet other eligibility requirements, there is a good chance that you qualify for the skilled worker in Manitoba, unless you graduated from another province before moving to Manitoba, and in that case, you will need to work for a period of 12 months for the same Manitoba based employer.
How to Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Manitoba PNP
Once the EOI is submitted, Manitoba holds bi-weekly draws to invite people to apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program via LAA (Letter of Advice to Apply) for the PNP.
International Education Stream of the MPNP
International education stream is ideal for those who have completed their education in Manitoba. Here is a short checklist to determine if you meet the eligibility requirements:
- Must have completed a minimum of 8 months of program at an Eligible Post Secondary Institution in Manitoba;
- Has a job offer which is consistent with their studies and their occupation listed in Manitoba’s in-demand occupation list.
- Has CLB 7 in each of the language skills.
If you meet the eligibility criteria listed above, you may create an EOI under the IES stream of the MPNP.
